Kruno began his career in 1983 working in commercial construction with leading builder T. H. O’Connor. He worked on some landmark Canberra projects such as the Queanbeyan Leagues Club, the TransACT Building on Northbourne Avenue, the Barton Offices and Belconnen Mall. During this time he completed a Diploma in Architectural Drafting and a Builders’ Licence course. Kruno founded PKN Design in 1987. In 1992, the company became Optima Design.
Nick joined his father straight from school and completed his A Class Builders’ Licence course in 2007. He is responsible for Optima Design’s plant and equipment operation and manages all suppliers and contractors on site.
Alex graduated with Bachelor of Applied Science in environmental design in 1994, followed by a Bachelor of Architecture in 1996. He is a GreenSmart professional and also holds an unrestricted A Class builder’s licence. His company, Arkitex has completed residential and commercial projects Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne, Dubai, Italy and Croatia. Alex has been working with Kruno since 1990 and now acts as Optima’s in-house architect and sales consultant. Find out more here.
